Testimonials

Emily was such a pleasure to have at our school. She had wonderful stories to share about her writing career as well as her fantastic book (that completely sold out at our book fair!!). The kids loved getting to talk with her about…well everything. She was so personable with the wide range of children she presented to. What a win having Emily at our school!! Can’t wait to have her back for her next book!
Elementary School Librarian

What an engaging experience for students and faculty alike! Ms. Emily Li’s presentation of her nonfiction book, The Good, the Bad, and the Fluffy: True Stories of Troublemaking Animals, as well as her overview of the writing process in its creation were phenomenal. While capturing the students’ attention with one of the book’s chapters, she supported the work of all writing teachers as she explained the process she used and the importance of research, editing, and a schedule. Ms. Li’s interactive presentation sent the students back to the classrooms ready to finish reading her book and to write their own.

Author Emily Li’s visit to Mt. Alvernia Academy was a delightful and inspiring experience for our 2nd–6th graders. Through a lively reading of her book The Good, the Bad, and the Fluffy, she captivated students with humor, heart, and the wild adventures of the animals themselves. Her interactive activities, including a MAD-Libs style creative writing activity and thoughtful Q&A, sparked imagination and made storytelling feel accessible to all. Emily’s warm, encouraging presence empowered young readers to see themselves as creators, and her visit left a lasting impression—we can’t keep her book on the shelf at the library!

As a volunteer at Mount Alvernia Academy, I witnessed Emily Sun Li’s fantastic storytelling of her new children’s book, The Good, the Bad, and the Fluffy: True Stories of Troublemaking Animals, at Scholastic Clubs & Fairs, and what a hit! The children loved all the animals and their crazy stories—a great way to bring real-life stories of heroism, comedy, and more to the enthusiastic young crowd. Emily kept the audience captivated with her storytelling, her writing process, and fun games like Mad Libs. The kids had a fantastic time, maybe even looking at their own furry friends for fascinating tales.
