New Novel Updates and the College App Process

I’m very sorry I went back on my promise to update more often, but I really think that’s going to change (right now!) I’ve been super busy applying to colleges, which is not the most pleasant of processes. Nevertheless, I’m really hoping to major in English and hopefully end up being a professor, but at this point it’s hard to tell.

I’m doing this great program at my high school, Choate Rosemary Hall, called the Creative Writing Capstone. Basically, it’s a group of people who are all interested in writing – fiction, fantasy, young adult, memoir, you name it – and we all help and support each other while offering constructive criticism. Lately, I’ve been working on the start of a new novel that’s about 25 pages long right now. I don’t want to give too much away – especially since I’m not even sure where it’s going! – but it takes place in another world where everybody has a specific Skill. It follows the life of Sandra Potts, who doesn’t. Her mom can burp out frogs, her dad can smell anything burning, and even her little brother can summon insects. I’m very excited and I’ll be sure to keep you all updated!
